Turbines to power Preston trams.

An update on the Preston, England tram plan I blogged about last week: According to a Sept. 16 Lancashire Evening Post report, a network of turbines is set to power the proposed light rail system.

According to LEP reporter Matthew Squires, Trampower  “are planning to build the two megawatt devices on park and ride sites and remote areas where it is hoped they will not spark controversy with neighbouring homes.”
